Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is great place to go and see all kinds of wildlife in Florida. There is an observation tower where you can view the prairie. This 21,000-acre preserve has wild horses, alligators, bison and a huge variety of different kinds of birds. There are also eight trails here for horseback riding, bicycling, and hiking. Gasoline powered boats are not allowed on Lake Wauberg but canoes and boats with electric motors are. If you would like to stay overnight, there are full-facility campsites available. Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is located at 100 Savannah Blvd. Micanopy, Florida 32667.
