Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is a great park for going camping. Not only that, they also have log cabins here. So if camping is not your thing, you can always stay in a log cabin. The log cabins were built by the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps. One of the great things about this park is that they have wildlife tours here. You can explore the fresh water lakes here in an airboat. This is a great way to see some of the wildlife here. There is also a Tram Safari which allows you to travel off the park's main roads into the flatwoods area. With over 45 square miles of woodlands, wetlands and prairie there are so many different ways to go exploring here. You can go canoeing. This is one of the many ways to see the wildlife here. If you like hiking, there are lots of trails here to go exploring. For those who like freshwater fishing they have that here also. Don't miss out on the canopy walk. The canopy walk leads up into the trees. Then when you get to the top of the tower, you get a great view of Myakka River State Park. Myakka River State Park is located at 13208 State Rd. 72 Sarasota, Florida.
