Sanibel Island

Sanibel Island is one of those places to go to when you just want to get away from it all and relax. Nature lovers will enjoy looking at the mangrove forest to the left and the mudflats to the right, down the one-way, four-mile-long Wildlife Drive. There is a wide variety of birds here also. This whole island is a bird sanctuary. So bring your binoculars and cameras! Sanibel Island is also a great place for bike riding. There are 22 miles of paved trails here for people who love to go bike riding. If you don't have a bike there is a place to rent bikes from. The beach here is a great place to go searching for shells. There are so many different type of shells to choose from. It does cost $6.00 per car to cross the Sanibel Causeway onto the island. There is not toll leaving the island. Sanibel Island is located off the coast of southwest Florida, just west of Fort Myers, Florida.
